Keith Telfeyan
Hi, welcome to this online journal 💫 My name is Keith. I have spent the past several years traveling the world. It’s a continuing process in search of soul. I approach every trip with an open mind, a thirst for knowledge, and a desire to make some sense of everything, to find meaning out there, for myself, and perhaps beyond me.
I was born and raised in Sacramento, California. My mom’s family comes from Los Angeles; my dad’s family comes from New York. California and New York are my spiritual homes, and where I come from. I now live in Central Europe.
I studied film and philosophy at U.C. Berkeley. I thought I would become an avant-garde filmmaker in the lineage of French New Wave. I moved to LA and worked in the film business, but became disillusioned. I then spent the next ten years in New York City, where I received an MFA in Photography and Related Media from Parsons the New School for Design. I made art videos, dabbled in conceptual work. I became a teacher, on the college level and to kids at a Montessori school. I wrote film criticism. I took lots of pictures as a professional photographer.
Something was missing. I cannot say what.
Journal of There is my formal attempt at figuring it out. This is my travel journal, my photo blog, my cultural insight, my content. This is an experiment in storytelling. The belief here is that one man's adventures are worth some attention, that grander truths can be gleaned from a character's journey. I do my best to articulate the inner life of a life traveler
